We are thrilled to recognize John Sanson, our November Associate Spotlight, Sanson has been with Edafio for almost five years as a Sr. NOC Engineer. He is an even-tempered person with abundant patience and a knack for bringing resolution and relief to our client’s IT issues.

The comings and goings of staff are a part of every dynamic organization; therefore, it can be challenging to get to know our coworkers better as people. We have to be mindful that our company culture thrives on our exceptional people and their outstanding technical skills. As such, we are finding that our periodic interviews with associates allow us to acknowledge and celebrate the beautiful life stories, extraordinary professional accomplishments, and even the little quirks that make us uniquely beautiful human beings.

We hope you find each Edafio associate story as inspiring as we do in gathering and sharing them.

Now let’s get better acquainted with John!

November Associate Spotlight John Sanson

How long have you worked at Edafio, and what does your job entail?

I have been at Edafio for 4.5 years. My job entails front-line support for Edafio customers when they call or send in a ticket. Also, I have recently started doing several onsite visits for customers, which has been very rewarding.

What do you like most about your job?

Onsite visits. Getting to know the clients while being onsite is what I like best about my job. Recognition from supervisors and everything is good, but it doesn’t compare to making a customer happy. I am also getting to know the customers better.

What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?

“If the client ain’t happy, Aint nobody happy!!” Do everything you can to make the client happy. Make them feel that their issue is your issue and that you genuinely care.

John Sanson has been around the world and back during his time at Edafio. Even though he has been with Edafio for roughly 5 years, he has only been with the NOC Team for a year. During that time, John has been very instrumental in helping us build out the on-site support group, as the NOC Team has moved to take over more of the on-site visits for clients. It has been great getting the chance to work so closely with John over this past year and I know our clients really enjoy working with him.

Derek Lewis, NOC Team Lead

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?

Run a BBQ restaurant. I love to BBQ and would love to do it for a living. Come February, and you will see if I am any good at it for yourselves.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

I enjoy spending time with my family and BBQing. We love going to Silver Dollar City, being outside, and being together. I love playing with my kids. We have been trying to get a garden going, but it has proven to be difficult. All I can grow at our house now is rocks.

What’s a fun fact about you that many people may not know?

I am not afraid to play with dolls or have a tea party with my girls. They are getting older but are never too old to play with dolls or have a good tea party. I also play transformers with my son.

Where’s your favorite place in the world?

My favorite place is my front deck, where I sit watching my kids play with the dogs.

What is your motto or personal mantra?

My motto is “I’m patient; I can wait” Be persistent in what you do; it will pay off. If you give up too quickly, it never turns out well.

Three words to best describe you:

Husband. Father. Patient

What is the one thing you can’t live without?

SWEET TEA. Strong, diabetic coma kind of sweet tea. Have to have a big glass of it every morning.

Who or what made you smile at work today?

I love how welcoming the staff is to new folks and celebrating coworkers with birthdays. I love reading the responses.

Everyone at Edafio has a story about why they joined the team. What’s yours?

Well, my story is unique. I didn’t exactly choose Edafio. Edafio chose me. I was working at CRHS when Edafio took over IT operations in 2018. I am so glad they did.

Edafio is always looking for exceptional candidates to join our team. For an opportunity to work with folks like John, visit our careers page to learn more.
