Meet Chuck Morse, April Associate Spotlight!

Home » Blog » Meet Chuck Morse, April Associate Spotlight!

We are thrilled to pay tribute to Chuck Morse, one of our esteemed Client Relationship Managers and April Associate Spotlight!

The comings and goings of staff are a part of every dynamic organization; therefore, it can be challenging to get to know our coworkers better as people, especially during a time of social distancing. We have to be mindful that our company culture thrives on our exceptional people as much as their outstanding technical skills. As such, we are finding that our periodic interviews with associates allow us to acknowledge and celebrate the beautiful life stories, extraordinary professional accomplishments, and even the little quirks that make us uniquely beautiful human beings.

We hope you find each Edafio associate story as inspiring as we do in gathering and sharing them.

How long have you worked at Edafio?

Four years last month.

What do you like most about your job?

Variety…. People, technology, clients, opportunities

What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?

“Understanding the facts goes a long way to solving a problem.”

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?

I would be a teacher.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

Besides spending time with my wife and family, fly fishing or enjoying the outdoors

What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?

Part American Indian

Where’s your favorite place in the world?

Standing in the Little Red River with a fly rod in hand and a fish on the line.

What is your motto or personal mantra?

Do not merely look out for your own personal interest but also the interest of others.

If you could meet anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

Paul the Apostle… I would like to understand more of his “frame of mind” and “the story behind the letters.”

During my first week at Edafio, I got to meet with Chuck and quickly learned he has many talents. Since then, I have seen Chuck juggle multiple roles in a dizzying way that would leave most people drowning.  I am excited to be able to work with someone of Chuck’s talent!

Mark Hodges, VP of Sales and Client Management

Three words to best describe you:

Methodical, reasonable, diligent

What is the one thing you can’t live without?

Faith

Who or what made you smile at work today?

A good plan of action with clear owners or something Marlowe Small said

Quarantine can be a time of learning, self-reflection and personal discovery. That said, is there anything you would like to share that COVID-19 and this quarantine have taught you?

COVID-19 restrictions are inconvenient but not impossible. The limitations challenge our American sense of individuality and reveal something about ourselves which is worthy of examination. I have fallen back to the question written in Andy Stanley’s book, Ask It, “What is the wise thing to do?”. In light of a pandemic,… All of the following seem wise to me:

  • Wearing a mask
  • Washing my hands seems
  • Physical distancing seems

Making the extra effort to find creative ways to reach out to clients, friends, and family

Everyone at Edafio has a story about why they joined the team. What’s yours?

After a career in the telephone industry with Southwester Bell, ALLTEL, and Windstream (all in Little Rock), I was retired from Windstream a year before their bankruptcy. During this timeframe, I experienced the ups and downs of marriage, two children, dogs, mini-van, baseball, gymnastics, broken bones, ice skating, public schools, church, college, aging parents and a job loss, to name a few. After six weeks at home and an effort at learning to cook healthy, my wife lovingly told me to “find a job.” At about that time, Keith Woodruff called about an opportunity at Edafio. We met for lunch and a follow-up interview with various team members. Apparently, I passed the test. My availability met Edafio’s moment, and here I am.

Edafio is always looking for exceptional candidates to join our team. For an opportunity to work with folks like Chuck, be sure to visit our careers page to learn more.
