Sherry Webb, Edafio Technology Partners’ Associate Spotlight for February

We believe that one of the most important things we can do at Edafio Technology Partners is to foster meaningful connections between coworkers and what better way to do this than through employee recognition?!

That is why each month we spotlight an excellent associate to help keep us inspired and connect. Our February spotlight goes to Sherry Webb, a System, and Network Administrator.

What drew you to this profession?

I have always like to troubleshoot problems. When I first started working at CARTI, we were using an IBM System 32. There was a COBOL programmer that ended up being my boss. I was allowed to read the COBOL code in some of the programs and found it very interesting. Then CARTI purchased their first Windows 2.0 PC, and I was allowed to ‘learn’ it! From there, the learning continues.

Have you ever met anyone famous?

Yes!

Tony Romo (Dallas Cowboys Quarterback) – He was the featured speaker at the grand opening of the west Little Rock Windstream office.

Florence Henderson – she came to CARTI to perform for the employees as part of an annual CARTI employee giving campaign

Craig O’Neal – Host for CARTI employee giving campaign themed “Who’s got Talent.”

President GW Bush and First Lady Laura Bush – during his presidency, he came to St. Vincents to give a speech. Secret service sneaked him in through the back door at CARTI SVI. He and the first lady were kind enough to stop and say hello and shake hands with the group of us gathered.

President Bill Clinton once waved back at me while he was Governor of Arkansas. He was going into Mr. Wicks Men’s Clothing store in the Heights, and I yelled, “Hi Governor,” and he waved and smiled! My sister rolled her eyes at me.

What’s your get-pumped song?

Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You,

Radio Ga-Ga – Another one bites the dust

Do you have a favorite quote?

“It’s not ever as good as it seems, nor is it ever as bad as it seems.  It usually falls somewhere in the middle.” A wise man told me this many years ago.”

When I’m creatively stuck, I… Go for a walk, or talk with a friend

What would be impossible for you to give up?

Not much of anything, but A/C would be a top contender. Life throws you curve balls and you quickly learn what is really important.

Any interesting facts about yourself that you’d like to share?

I live a pretty ordinary life… unless you find me on a Cruise ship, then all bets are off!

Who inspires you to be better?

My best friend Beverly Deaver.  I have looked up to her for many years and can always count on her honesty and friendship. We’ve been thru the best of times and the worst of times together!

Lastly, Sherry, everyone at Edafio has a story about why they joined the team. What’s yours?

Not sure if this is a very interesting story. After working for CARTI for 36½ years. CARTI outsourced their IT department to Edafio in 2018. I have been a grateful employee of Edafio since March 2018.

“Everyone I have met at Edafio has been very kind and knowledgeable. I’m so impressed with the knowledge level of the engineers I have work with at Edafio. Edafio hires some of the smartest people I know!”

I have always loved CARTI’s mission and genuinely caring employees. I witnessed firsthand how caring the front office staff, nurses, therapists, and doctors were when my dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and went through radiation therapy at CARTI. CARTI employees have been a healthy support system for me when going thru several traumatic events.

I love my Edafio/CARTI family!

….And all of us at Edafio love you too!

Thanks for your time, Sherry We’re grateful for your dedication, commitment and curiosity to get. You represent each of our core values – humility, respect and unquestionable integrity with excellence and ease.
