We are thrilled to recognize Trevor Bates, our January Associate Spotlight. Trevor started on the NOC team over a decade ago and now leads the Core Care Team, comprised of our senior-level engineers whose primary focus is on projects and resolving tier 3 issues. We call him the client whisperer for his ability to simplify the complex.

The comings and goings of staff are a part of every dynamic organization; therefore, it can be challenging to get to know our coworkers better as people. We have to be mindful that our company culture thrives on our exceptional people and their outstanding technical skills. As such, we are finding that our periodic interviews with associates allow us to acknowledge and celebrate the beautiful life stories, extraordinary professional accomplishments, and even the little quirks that make us uniquely beautiful human beings.

We hope you find each Edafio associate story as inspiring as we do in gathering and sharing them.

Now let’s get better acquainted with Trevor!

How long have you worked at Edafio, and what does your job entail?

I have been at Edafio for ten years. I lead the Core Care Team, which handles Tier 3 Support tickets. Tier 3 is the final escalation point for customer issues within the Service Desk department. The team is comprised of Senior Network Engineers who manage technical issues that cannot be resolved by levels 1 & 2 support staff. They troubleshoot and fix the most challenging and complicated cases.

What is your Crystal Knows Profile?

Counselor – Trevor tends to be loyal, supportive, and helpful. He can be a stabilizing force in a group and will likely invest lots of time building relationships with his peers.

What are three words that best describe you?

Compassionate, accommodating and helpful.

What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching? Or reading?

I’m currently reading Ancillary Justice from the Imperial Radch space opera trilogy.

What is your favorite Motto or personal mantra?

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone, there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

What’s one thing on your bucket list?

I would like to record an album of experimental pedal steel guitar music.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with Trevor while he has served in multiple roles at Edafio. From Director of Operations at AHH to his current Core Care Team Lead position. Trevor has consistently been committed to doing what is needed to bring success to both Edafio and our clients! Because of his versatility of skills, Trevor often gets pulled into various situations to assist with client situations. His willingness to take on challenging tasks with compassion and accountability are some of the key attributes you get when working with Trevor. I applaud Trevor for his professionalism, and once you’ve spent time with him, it’s easy to see why our clients love Trevor, and we do as well!

Kevin Jordan, VP of Managed Services

Who inspires you?

Neil Young

What is something unique about you (a fun fact) that few people are aware of?

I am a skilled keelboat bowman.  I have crewed sailboats on Beaver Lake and Lake Maumelle. During the pandemic, I started recording my own music and playing various musical instruments. It was a coping mechanism during the pandemic, and since then, I have recorded and released about six albums varying from rock ‘n’ roll to punk music all the way to country and western. You can find my music on Spotify and Bandcamp.

Everyone at Edafio has a story about why they joined the team. What’s yours?

I joined Edafio because I saw the potential for personal growth, and I saw potential in a growing company.  In my interview, Keith asked me, ‘How many gas stations are there in the US?’ which caught me off guard, and I thought, ‘This place must be like Google!’

Edafio is always looking for exceptional candidates to join our team. For an opportunity to work with folks like Trevor, visit our careers page to learn more.
