Network Engineer

We are currently looking for a Network Engineer to join our team in Central Arkansas.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Network Engineer with some IT experience that can grow into an experienced network engineer at Edafio. Some previous hands-on networking experience in enterprise environments is preferred but is not required for this role. Candidate must be able to work under supervision and will be responsible for task completion. The candidate will utilize Edafio’s network solutions to implement and manage our client’s enterprise environments.

STATUS:

Full-time/ Exempt/ Standard Workdays & Hours (30+ hours/week)/ Some on-call may be required.

TRAVEL:

Up to 80% locally for troubleshooting, installations, and other client support visits.

PREFERRED INDUSTRY RELATED CERTIFICATIONS: 

CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+

Cisco CCNA

Aruba ACSA or ACMA

Fortinet NSE4

Palo Alto PCCET

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Install, configure, and support network technologies including switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless access points.

Work with various engineering teams within Edafio to implement advanced business solutions to meet customer needs in critical environments.

Report to team leads with work progress on a regular basis as required.

Manage client tickets and provide detailed documentation to required parties.

Participate in provided technical training and mentorship opportunities.

Participate in all required activities as scheduled by leadership.

Participate in network team on-call rotation.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

2-3 years of experience in a general IT role

Knowledge of brands such as: Cisco, HPE, Aruba, Meraki, CheckPoint and Palo Alto

Knowledge of MS Windows Server Platforms and Desktop Operating Systems

Ability to work on multiple, moderate to high complex assignments simultaneously

Strong written and verbal communication skills for working in a team and with clients

Strong problem-solving skills

Excellent time management

Must be able to report onsite at local client worksites in Central Arkansas on daily/weekly basis (relocation assistance not available at this time)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to sit, stand, and bend for the duration of shift. The position is mainly sitting, with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs, such as laptop, server equipment, and, driving to the work site to meet with client(s).

REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED equivalent required

Associate degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

Experience working on an IT helpdesk/NOC or as a system administrator

Hands-on usage or experience working with Cisco, HPE, Aruba, Meraki, CheckPoint and Palo Alto

Experience with device monitoring and logging tools (SEIM products, Wireshark)

Experience developing and maintaining network documentation

Experience with change management, product lifecycles, and customer service
