Meet December Associate Spotlight, Kinsey Tickell

We are thrilled to pay tribute to Kinsey Tickell, one of Edafio’s esteemed associates and our spotlight for December.

The comings and goings of staff are a part of every dynamic organization; therefore, it can be challenging to get to know our coworkers better as people, especially during a time of social distancing. We have to be mindful that our company culture thrives on our exceptional people as much as their outstanding technical skills. As such, we are finding that our periodic interviews with associates allow us to acknowledge and celebrate the beautiful life stories, extraordinary professional accomplishments, and even the little quirks that make us uniquely beautiful human beings.

We hope you find each Edafio associate story as inspiring as we do in gathering and sharing them.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I was born and raised in Benton, AR. My husband and I will celebrate 20 years of marriage next May. We have been together since the night we meet. We have two boys, Jace, 15, and Jaxx, 8.

Do you have any favorite quotes?

Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.’ 1 John 4:4.

There are times when life gets so overwhelming, and this verse reminds me who I am in Christ, that I have a purpose, and that with God, I can overcome any challenge the world attempts to throw at me.

Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.

1 John 4:4.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I have very little free time, as both of my boys are very active in sports, primarily baseball and basketball, and I love every moment of it. I love to see my boys enjoying what they love to do, so most of my free time is spent supporting their love of sports, hunting, fishing, and being on the lake.

What do you consider your most defining moment?

Personally – becoming a mom. Professionally – stepping out in faith and accepting the job with Edafio.

Kinsey continues to set the bar high when consulting with our clients on compliance, risk, HIPAA, security awareness programs, and quality reporting. Her passion for educating and assuring our clients understand reports and regulatory requirements are unmatched in this region. Her day in, day out dedication to our core values of unquestionable integrity, commitment to client success, and one team with humility and respect remind me of how blessed we are to have her at Edafio!

Valerie Moring – Healthcare and Cybersecurity Team Lead

If you could spend one day with anyone in the world, who would it be?

My dad. He passed away when I was seven months pregnant with my oldest. I know he would be so proud of both my boys.

What is the best career advice that you have ever received?

It is not technically career advice, but life advice…I recently met with my mentor, and I reflected on where I was in my career before moving to Edafio. Something he said resonated with me, and it was simple. Do not allow others to control your self-worth. When you do, you lose focus on your goals and purpose.

Everyone at Edafio has a story about why they joined the team. What’s yours?

I will try and keep this as short as I can…It was 100% God that brought me to Edafio. Although I was ready to leave the department where I worked, I had not considered applying for a position outside of the company. Then my husband came across a job opening at Edafio that a childhood friend of his had shared. I was intimidated to apply for it because I did not have any IT/Managed Service experience. Long story short, I had no intention of accepting the role, but that changed when I had my second interview with Valerie and Kenny. They took a chance on me and saw something in me that, at the time, I did not see in myself. Edafio has been a blessing to me in many ways. I have gained knowledge, grown professionally, and found my second family at Edafio.
